A historical mystery fan, I'm always looking for new authors. This one takes place in Victorian Scotland, and is worth the time. Finding all of the series got problematic, although many are available on Kindle for great prices. This particular title I had to get in a large print ex-library edition (not my favorite presentation) but still very readable. The characters grow on you and the mysteries and setting are entertaining. I recommend the series that features Inspector Faro's daughter, Rose Quinn, as well. Her dog is amazing!Product details

This book was published in 1993. It is earlier in the series. Not #11 I missed reading it because does not have the series numbered right. Also, it came to my kindle in a very poor format. This effected the rating. All other books in this series I have enjoyed.
I really like the Insp. Faro series.
Inspector Faro's stepson Dr Vincent Laurie is engaged to marry Grace Langweil. Unfortunately at a dinner prior to their marriage Grace's father Cedric Langweil dies during the night. The wedding is put on hold and Jeremy Faro has to investigate.
More deaths follow before the killer is unmasked. It was an interesting read however I unfortunately received this book in poor format which made reading difficult and may have influenced the grading given.
